Literary Quotes : Oscar Wilde

A few of my favourite quotes of his. As my English teacher said, Wilde wrote merely for the beauty of Literature, never believing it should be about an underlying didactic meaning.

"There are only two tragedies in life; one is not getting what you want, the other is getting it."

"I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train."

" It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about, nowadays, aying things against one behind one's back that are absolutely and entirely true."

"A dreamer is one who can find his way by moonlight and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world."

"A gentleman is one who never hurts anyone's feelings unintentionally. "
