'The Dreamer' editorial - Vogue UK October 2010
'Bid adieu to the heat of the summer. Breeze into autumn with sweet retro pieces - capes, coats, soft knits, brilliant suede heels. Photographed by Laura Sciacovelli.'
Despite British Vogue's tendency to stick to rather monotonous clothing and fail safe ideas, this October issue was filled with plenty of delights, notably this beautiful editorial. After it caught my eye, it led me to dream of an autumn filled with whimsical clothing, cable knit sweaters, fur coats and brightly stacked suede heels. Please can I wrap up in that yellow ochre cashmere cape?
The story aims to evoke the glamour of Sixties screen sirens with soft blurring of the images. Sciacovelli shot the story in her home town in Puglia commenting that it 'has an extreme light. It's not picture perfect - it has a rough and aggressive beauty', something that gives this shoot such a unique quality.
