Inspiration: Oriental

I've always been a fan of oriental prints and shapes.  Generally the cuts are extremely flattering, often featuring a cross over, a tie or tapering at the waist.  Miniature nature prints are also common and Miu Miu's A/W '11 show seems to have been inspired by this, with tiny birds and flowers covering its luxurious silk dresses; one of my ultimate collections of the season.  An iconic piece of this trend is the kimono, often in a silky fabric, which when thrown over simple basics can inject a nonchalant spirit into any outfit.  I've featured two of my favourite bloggers in the collage, lateafternoon and 5inchanup, displaying their multiple takes on the trend - definite inspiration for how to make the look your own.

ooo i love these pieces. super happy I found your blog. I'm totally following, I hope you will as well. I started my blog a little over 4 months ago after graduating from college in the south and moving across the country to LA. The site's all about celebrity fashion from the point of view of an LA stylist. I'd love if if you'd stop by to see multiple post a day on all the latest celebrity fashion news and check out my latest post featuring pictures from my Mad Hatter themed engagement party. Thanks love. xoxo
