A few weeks ago I went to Italy and did the typical tourist trail of Venice, Florence and Rome, all cities that I've been wanting to visit for a very long time.  There are so many things that I love about the country; the dynamic nature of the people, the gorgeous food (the gelato is incredible) and the beautiful architecture.    A few of my highlights from the trip included; live opera next to the pantheon, a trip to a Rome flea market (I came home with a large bag of bargains), sitting by the Trevi fountain and getting lost in the maze of Venice's backstreets.

The Colours and Clothes of India

Before I went to India, someone said to me that the one thing that would linger in my mind long after my trip would be the colour.  They certainly weren't wrong.  Its strength and vibrancy on the clothes, the food, the streets, even the evening sun was incredible.  Every hue of red, pink and turquoise surrounded us daily, especially in the everyday attire of the women.  I loved just how intricately decorated their saris were and the glimmering jingle of their multitude of bangles.  Needless to say, I returned home with a stack of my own and a renewed approach to wearing such bright pieces.

Scrapbook: Incredible India

I began my travels in March when I arrived in Goa, west India.  Over the next few months I travelled through cities and villages via trains, buses, boats and planes, along with a 3 week detour to Nepal.

If there's a country that sends your senses into a frenzy, it's India. A country that's animated and dynamic, it's India. A country many either love or hate, one where you never know quite what to expect.  Definitely India.  Beginning on the beaches of Goa and ending in the bustling city of Kolkata, I had the most amazing few months. A few of the highlights of my trip included:

• Celebrating the cricket world cup in Mumbai
• Seeing the Taj Mahal at sunrise
• Riding a moped through the surreal landscape of Hampi
• Taking a cooking class in Udaipur
• Eating concoctions I had never thought of (a curried boiled egg being one of them)
• Hiking in the Himalayas
