Street Style: Fashion week in Milan and Paris

Whilst the fashion shows mark out what we'll be wearing over the next year, the style in the streets surrounding them hint at the leading trends of the coming season.  Fashion insiders, editorial staff and models- so often they take a look or a piece and approach it in an innovating way, just look at the lady on the top right featuring plaid on plaid.  For me, street style photography provides some of the most distinguished inspiration.  Here is a collection of my favourite looks from the recent fashion weeks in Milan and Paris.

Street Style: Models Off Duty

Some of my favourite street style images come from sites that showcase the outfits of models off duty. I guess being a paid clothes horse they have a knack for working pieces in such an effortless way that regular people simply can't do. Studying these images, they tend to pick quite simple items and work them in a completely alternate way- look at Jessica Hart in a long, floral dress, geek glasses and white Converse.

In terms of my favourite models it has to be Daria Werbowy for her longevity, Karlie Kloss ever since Teen Vogue featured her at 14 and Erin Wasson for her laidback, Texan approach to fashion and life.

This has to be one of my all time favourite street style images: each of the girls is showcasing their innate individual style, combined with matching fuschia lips and the perfect lighting.

Street style blogs feature not only outfits of great taste, but details of great taste too. After saving so many images to my computer, I wanted to share my favourites with you. The feathered skirt, the navy tux, the aquamarine shaded patterns; these details are what distinguishes designer from the high street. As for the Celine Box bag - who else would kill for one of those ?

Best of the Week's Street Style

- What to wear to a masked ball -
Whilst not entirely 'street style', I found this gorgeous image on jakandjil of Elena Perminova heading into the the Vogue Paris Masked Ball. She was photographed in this remarkable Giambattista Valli gown, Maison Michel mask and Burberry Prorsum boots. An outfit from your dreams? It's definitely featured in mine.

I've spent the last few hours scouring the internet's street style sites for more inspiration for my Autumn wardrobe. Having not checked them for several weeks, I found so many outfits that I've fallen for and have rediscovered what I love about these blogs, real girls wearing achievable outfits, compilations that we can all aspire to wear. The beautiful photography only adds to their charm. This collection are just a few of my favourites.
