Tweed and Tartan

Outfit: Pink jumper - COW vintage; Tweed trousers - Topshop; Brogues - Primark; Scarf - TK Maxx

I love the mix of tweed and tartan in this outfit, two patterns that make me feel all wintry, whatever the season. My sister bought these tweed trousers a while ago, however with the front being so baggy she has found it difficult to wear them - cue me experimenting with them. Whilst I love them for weekend wear with this cable knit jumper, I am looking forward to trying them out with some heels and perhaps a blouse.

Did you borrow your Grandad's Blazer?

Outfit: Blazer- Oxfam; Stripy T-shirt- H&M (seen here); Shorts - COW vintage (seen here); Necklace- Primark; Bag - Zara (seen here); Boots - Market (seen here)

Tweed jackets aren't something you would necessarily associate with women's fashion. A Grandad's clothing of choice yes, but a teenage girl's, not so much. However, personally I always feel most comfortable when my outfit contains a touch of adrogyny. It's no suprise then that I have been on the hunt for a tweed jacket for a while now, a very particular hunt at that. It has to appear like it's been borrowed from my Grandad, yet have small enough shoulders not to make me look like a built up rugby player. I found one in my local Oxfam this week which I think just about fits the bill, although the shoulders may perhaps be a tad on the square side.
