The Very Best of Glastonbury '10

- First up for the performers -
A performance would be nothing without the dramatics and Glastonbury certainly delivered in the form of the costumes. Florence Welch wore a Maison Martin Margiela Artisanal leotard, appearing on the stage almost like a ghost. The red hair and strong white colours provide the perfect contrast for a breathtaking performance. My personal favourite costume was Paloma Faith's, which on first glance I thought was a bunny outfit. The glittering diamonds and what appears to be a knight's helmet made for a completely bizarre ensemble- but if you can't take fashion risks on stage, when can you?
Shakira

- Next up for the attendees -
Jamie Winstone, Jameela Jamil, Sienna Miller, Kate Nash

- Emma Watson, the new festival darling? -
A close runner up in the crowning of 'Festival Queen', Emma's Louis Vuitton bustier with Hudson shorts make for a quirky alternative in festival gear. Plus a pair of ripped denim shorts with a floaty blouse tucked in is always a festival staple outfit.

- Once again, Chung triumphed for me in the festival fashion stakes -
Alexa's quirky mix of tomboy cool, several preppy items and a living life to the full attitude has certainly defined her for me as the 'Festival Queen'. Oooh and don't you just adore the Prairie style shirt under the dungaree dress?

Festival Outfit Day 2

Outfit: Denim Jacket- Primark, Shorts- Liberty at Topshop, Vest- H&M, Hairband- Accessorize, Sandals- Vintage, Sunglasses- Paris

On my second day, I opted for some floral prints after I got my hands on these Liberty shorts in the Topshop sale last summer. One of the things I love about festival fashion is the fact that you can wear plenty of hippy inspired accessories without looking like you have stepped out straight out of the 1970's. For mine, a daisy chain inspired hairband (the practical alternative to a real one) and a few red hearts drawn on with lipliner enabled a hint towards a Woodstock attendee.

Festival Outfit Day 1

Outfit: Waistcoat-vintage, Shorts (were jeans)- Primark, Vest- Whistles, Hairband- Accessorize, Long socks- Primark, Necklace- Urban Outfitters, Sunglasses- Paris, Bag- Ryan's Vintage.

As it's the festival time of year, my next couple of posts will feature two of the outfits I wore last year to Leeds festival. The first was incredibly comfy (a necessity) and easy to keep cool in. I found this khaki waistcoat in my dressing up box a few years ago, the farmer/ country look of the item enabled it to adapt perfectly to a weekend in a muddy field.
